PREPARE FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL GERMS!

PREPARE FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL GERMS!

In a few short weeks, there will be millions of children heading back to school and bringing back home, millions of germs! Michelle and I get ready every year, we UP our dosages of Plant Derived Minerals, make sure our bottles of Cell RTQ are full, and make sure we have our Rebound "on tap" to ensure proper hydration and electrolytes. We know that although all these incredible Youngevity nutrients are making us as resilient and strong as we can be on the inside, it seems our boys are just constantly bringing home germs that are "attacking" us on the outside.

I know this may seem trivial, especially with all of the significant health challenges of our world, but anyone that has gotten a nasty cold can relate. And ever since we were kids, our parents would remind us that the best way to prevent colds is to wash your hands. Many illnesses, including the common cold, are spread by not washing hands properly with soap and water. According to statistics from the National Library of Medicine, the common cold accounts for approximately 22 million missed days of school and 20 million absences from work. So as you can see, getting a "little" cold, sure disrupts your life in a major way.

Health and safety experts feel that handwashing is the single most effective way to prevent infections. You can spread certain germs by simply touching another person casually. Touching a contaminated glass, desk, pencil, locker and then touching your face can easily cause you to catch a germ. Unless you're going to live in a bubble, it's impossible not to come into contact with germs. However, washing your hands properly, frequently, and with the right products can keep you from turning those germs into nasty colds and illness.

Along with humming the "Happy Birthday" song to ensure that you're washing your hands long enough, you also need to use the right products. Soap and water are great, soap doesn't really break down dirt and germs, soap makes your skin slick, so the dirt and germs fall or "slip" off. This can be effective only if you rub your hands and make sure to lather and scrub them well. Waterless or alcohol based hand sanitizers can work well as long as the sanitizer contains at least 60 percent alcohol. However, one of the main reasons why people are less inclined to wash is they complain their hands become dry, itchy, and cracked. This is true due to the fact soaps and sanitizers strip the body's natural oils from the skin and frequent cleanings can cause irritation. Therefore it is important to make sure you also protect your skin by frequently using aloe based hand lotions and take natural essential fatty acids that help the skin to retain its natural moisture.

Youngevity's PureWorks brand offers a "fourth generation" safe and effective antimicrobial hand washing solution. PureWorks is 100% alcohol free and is tough on bacteria but will not dry or irritate the skin. While breaking down bacteria and microbial elements from the skin it softens and conditions the skin and protects against harmful bacteria and harmful germs that cause illness.

I encourage you to "arm" yourself and your children with PureWorks in an effort to ward off the onslaught of germs they will surely be exposed to as they head back into the classroom!
