New Year Predictions - Post 388

Big Al’s network marketing predictions for 2015

Prediction #1

Again this year, it is reported that approximately 50% of all doctors will graduate in the bottom half of their classes. By allowing these underachievers into society, sales for nutritional products should greatly increase.

Prediction #2

Personal responsibility and work ethics will decline. Many freeloaders will just hope for success, and will consider that their total commitment. You will see ads like the following in “personal” columns throughout the country:
Lazy, SWM, network marketing junkie looking for SWF with established downline for marriage and financial support.

Prediction #3

The worst selling new network marketing book of 2015 will be:
“How I Turned Two Million Dollars into a Million-Dollar Fortune” by Sleaze Shallowman.

Prediction #4

You won’t see the following headline on any company newsletter:
Uneducated, untrained, unmotivated distributor leads company in recruiting and retail sales. Earns largest check ever in network marketing.

Prediction #5

More and more workers will continue to leave the work force and start their own part-time networking businesses. Why? They are bored or frustrated with their present jobs. Industry experts estimate that 40% of all sick days occur on Fridays and Mondays. This estimate confirms the workers’ desire to leave a boring workplace environment.

Prediction #6

A new company will launch that insists that if you don’t join now, it will be too late tomorrow. But what will we tell the prospects after tomorrow? This cycle will be repeated several times every day.

Prediction #7

Many unsuccessful distributors who do not have the skills to build a downline will mistakenly join yet another company with the hopes that joining a company will fix their lack of skills. This cycle will be repeated by these untrained distributors throughout the year.

Prediction #8

Many unsuccessful distributors will blame their sponsor, their company, their pricing and the general market for their failure. They won’t realize that many distributors in their company are enjoying success with the same set of circumstances.

Prediction #9

Many unsuccessful distributors will stop their prospecting activities and then complain that they can’t find any prospects. Resuming their prospecting activities will never occur to them.

Prediction #10

Prospects will refuse to build a network marketing business while employed. They prefer to wait until it is too late, until after they are released from their jobs. These prospects will then insist that they start their network marketing business with a full-time income.

Thanks Tom for the light hearted view of our fabulous industry!!!

The Biggest Challenge SOLVED - Post 386

The biggest challenge in network marketing has been how do we get people to overcome their fear; to go out and talk to people about their opportunity. Inviting is the Gateway skill. If you don't go through that gate it's over. If you can't get somebody to take a look it's over. If you can't get somebody to understand your product or your opportunity it’s over. So many people struggle, there's so much fear involved in that aspect of our business.

People get involved and they're like, they're going to pick up the phone to talk to their brand new prospect and they go into one of three different states typically.

1) They just verbally throw up on that person. They just "blah blah blah blah blah come join my business; you'd be great at this; we can get involved early." All these wrong words to say. They act desperate. They act needy.

Or

2) They act scared. They act intimidated and that doesn't build confidence with the other person that's listening.

Or

3) They get ready to pick up that phone and they go . . . maybe later. They get ready to pick it up again and go . . . I don't want to look stupid. I'm not sure if I'm ready. I don't know if I know what to say. So they hang up.

Another thing that happens is they call that person they think is going to join for sure and that person just BOOM hits them with 15 questions and they go oh I don't ever want to do that again. That made me feel super uncomfortable.

Right? So there's been all these barriers to getting people to take a look and understand once we get people to sit down with us, once we have an appointment, . . .the appointment is the hard part, once you're together with someone all you have to do is point to your third party materials, share your story, share your products, your opportunity. Point to whatever third-party tools that you have; playing a video. Do whatever you need to do demonstrate your product, whatever it is.

That parts pretty easy but the appointment is hard so in GoPro Eric Worre goes through this eight step process for teaching people how to always be in a hurry when you pick up the phone. How to compliment someone. How to go into the invitation, direct, indirect, and super indirect. How to follow up. Make sure that appointment is a real appointment and all and those things.

But there's something that's happened in the last few years that has changed the game. It's changed the game and what I'm about to share with you, you’re going to say that's ridiculously simple. Some of you are going to love it; some of you are going to say I'm not sure if it's even real. That's okay but here's what I'm going to tell you. If you'll try it. If you test it with me today . . . and I'm going to give you a way for you to test it today. Then the results for you are going to skyrocket. Not only for you but for every person in your organization.

Typically we tell you get on the phone and start making appointments but something's happened that I'm going to share with you in just a minute.

The times have changed in our world and how we communicate. Think about your world. Think about your cell phone. Think about how you use it now verses how you used it even two years ago or three years ago. Think about how rare it is to hear a phone ring now. You just hear them buzz. buzz buzz buzz. They're on silent everywhere. When was the last time you heard one ring. Remember when ringtones were the big thing? They were huge and now ringtones disappeared. Nobody cares about ringtones much anymore.

People call you . . . let's, let's say you call your kids. You know typically your kids aren't answering the phone; but right afterwards they'll send you a text that says, what do you need, right? So they won't answer the phone but they'll text you right away, "what do you need" and then you text them back. Our kids I think have trained us as adults that texting is a little bit simpler.

It's easier than a phone call when it comes to communication. When it comes to staying in touch. When it comes to staying connected with people. And doing it on our terms.

I don't know about you, but even for me my phone rings, most the time, I'll let it go to voicemail. And I'll text that person, "what did you need" even before I listen to the voicemail.

So here's what started to happen. People literally have a panic attack when you suggest calling prospects for appointments. I can't do this, I can't do this, I'm scared. I'm scared to death I don't know what to do. This is not what I signed up for. Which is typically what a brand new person goes through when it comes to say you can make some calls.

What if you just sent a text message to people instead of making the calls? Just relax, enjoy yourself, it's going to be fine. When you send a text message and book your first appointment you will be on top of the world. Your confidence will be boosted.

So pull out your phones and I want you to send a text message to a prospect. While we're here right now and ask them for an appointment. Just text "coffee" question mark, "Can we get together next week" question mark. "Whats your schedule look like next week" Whatever it is.

Send a text message out and once you booked an appointment I want you to say I did it!

Just start text message campaigns to set appointments and the results will be unbelievable.

A lot of people like to say in network marketing we don't have a boss. OK you don't have a boss in network marketing but let me describe to you what your boss really is.

Your boss in network marketing is your calendar. You either have appointments scheduled in this calendar or you don't. You either are scheduled to meet with people and share your opportunity or you don't. If this calender is empty your business is stagnant. It's not growing. So our goal to start for everyone, is to get this calendar filled up with appointments here and there and everywhere.

Sit down with somebody for coffee, show the opportunity. Sit down with lunch or breakfast, show the opportunity. Sit down after work, show the opportunity and from that you're going to get a certain result right. So this calendar is your boss and if this is your boss our job, our biggest job, the Gateway job is to fill this calendar up. Not just for you but for every person in your organization.

So here's the big breakthrough to schedule an appointment instead of the phone call send a text message. Send a simple text message. I'm going to give you a challenge, do this today. Then I want you to go onto my blog page and I want you to post your results under this article. You’re going to see amazing things start to happen.

Not Getting Wet Anymore - Post 383

Some-people-feel-the-rain-others-just-get-wet-positive-pictures"Some people feel the rain. Most people just get wet." - Bob Marley

I don't know why but when I came across that quote today it just reminded me of my MKMMA journey. For years I have been living my life, just getting wet. I never once stopped to reflect on what is around me nor questioning why. I've just been living the routine. Get up. Go to work on my 40 x 40 plan. Working for 40 years at 40 hours per week only to retire on 40% of what I couldn't afford. Spending no where near enough time with family or doing the things I would rather be doing.

Sure I questioned there had to be a better way. I even took some action and started a home business to find the better way but I was still on that treadmill going nowhere fast. It wasn't until I joined this MKMMA experience that I began to realize that there was truly a better way and that better way can be found within me.

By concentrating on the seven laws of the mind I discovered that a whole new world is out there. A world that is ready to be explored. I realized that in addition to the seven laws of the mind, there are other laws of the universe or laws of physics that are in play in my life. By just becoming aware of these laws and understanding them I could utilize them for my advantage.

The law of perpetual motion.

In physics we learned that an object in motion stays in motion until acted on by something else. I realize that the law of giving follows this same basic principle of perpetual motion. When you give you will receive. The problem with most of us is we give but we don't believe that we are worthy to receive so we don't except it.

Someone pays us a complement, we reject it because we are taught to be humble and act with humility.

Someone offers a hand and we refuse it because of pride or for fear that we may be asked for something in return.

The good book says that if you give freely, ten fold will be returned to you. Give and be opened to receiving. Accept the compliment with a warm thank you. Don't be the one to stop the flow of giving.

The Power of Positive Thinking

For years I have believed in the Power of Positive Thinking. As a result good things have usually come my way.

I remember a scene in the movie The Secret where I guy talks about how he always thinks of a good parking spot and one always seems to be available to him. Well, that is what I have always done and probably 99% of the time I have always found a good spot. Ever since my son got his license to drive he has had the same thoughts and almost always that good parking spot manifests for him as well. It's amazing.  Now, after the first trimester of the MKMMA experience I have learned that my Power of Positive Thinking experiences where one of the seven laws of the mind, the Law of Substitution.

I must confess however that the past few years things in my life have not been positive. I lost my job in Dec 2011 just a few weeks before Christmas (in fact it was this very week in 2011). As I shared on this forum a few posts back, it took me 2 years to find new employment. As I look back now I realize that even though outwardly I was expressing positive thinking, inwardly I was defeated and depressed. In my thoughts I did not express the positive attitude that I showed everyone else. I didn't want my wife and friends to know just how scared I was.

I have come to realize through this MKMMA experience that even though I got a new job a year ago, mentally I was still in that bad place. The place of hopelessness.

Two years ago I started taking the Network Marketing business more seriously. I finally began having success. I reached the pin level needed to maximize the compensation plan. I had groups of people that were growing without my assistance. I hit the $20K per year level. A level that the average net-worker would love to achieve. But I just could not seem to go any higher and I blamed myself for that. Now I know by studying the Seven Laws of the Mind that I was still mentally back in December 2011 when I lost that job.

I have now began to see through this MKMMA experience that I can truly write my own destiny and now I understand the how and the why. Despite the success I was having I have been so depressed about my performance in Network Marketing that I had begun to give up. I knew that I could do much better than I had been doing but just did not know how. I had the skills needed to be a million dollar earner but lacked the mental focus needed.

I wasn't "feeling the rain."

Now thanks to Mark J and the whole MKMMA Team. I am beginning to "feel the rain" once again.

Thank You

Giving Thanks - Post 382

Thanksgiving I believe is my favorite of all the holidays. Its a time that we can all come to gather and just enjoy visiting. There's no gift giving pressures or guilt. Just time to be together and enjoy each others company.

This thanksgiving was even more special than past years for me in several different ways.
First of all, all of my family that live out of town were able to come up and spend some time with us. I have not seen my brother and his family in a number of years so it was nice to be able to spend some time with him even though it was only a few hours.

In addition it was nice to be able to spend more time with my niece and her husband. They were able to spend the weekend at our house and it was just nice to get to know them more as a couple since we weren't able to make it to their wedding.

We got to spend nearly a week with my sister Karen and her husband Jimmy. Just being able to sit around and relax together was time that I hold special.

Fortunately for my son Kyle, who left for basic training for the Navy this past Monday, he was able to spend several days with his cousin from Florida. We didn't get to spend much time with either of them because they kept themselves busy but I am thankful that they got to spend more time together before my son shipped off.

And of coarse I am always thankful when I get to spend time with my parents. We hope to make a trip down to Florida this coming summer to spend some more time with them.

After my family all left town we then had my wife's family over for Thanksgiving. We also had a great time with them playing pool, air hockey, and just getting together to have fun.

The Thanksgiving holidays ended in a bittersweet moment for us however. As many of you already know my oldest son joined the Navy and this past Sunday he had to report to the recruiting office to prepare to leave. So Sunday we all went to church together. My daughter bawled he eyes out all throughout mass while her brother sat next to her. After church we went  out to eat for one last family meal together and then we dropped him off at the recruiting office.

Monday morning we all went down to the federal building for his swearing in ceremony and had lunch with him. Later we met him at the airport and sat with him until his plane left for Chicago. After he boarded the plane we watched until the plane taxied out of sight.

I am so Thankful for my wife, my family and our friends. I know that the coming year will be filled with new experiences and challenges.

Mental Dieting - Post 381

bookcoverAmericans are concerned about weight and billions of dollars are spent every year on weight loss and weight control in this country. Whether it is to improve one’s physical appearance or to improve one’s health Americans are obsessed with dieting. Last year I wrote an e-Book on Why Diets Fail. I won’t go into all the details on weight loss and dieting in this post but the jest of it was that all diets fail unless a diet program is supplemented with all of the essential nutrients necessary for the body to function optimally. Now, after studying Hannel and The Master Key System I realize that there is another kind of “diet” that is needed to create or manifest the desired outcome of one’s life.

When was the last time you went on a “Mental Diet?”

The “Mental Diet” on which you live determines the entire character of your life. The thoughts you think and the topics that you dwell on in the mental realm affect everything in your life. Your physical well-being, your income potential, your happiness are all dictated by what you feed into your daily thoughts so over time your “Mental Diet” affects the outcome of your entire life experiences.

This idea of “Mental Diet” would explain why most people fail when it comes to New Year’s resolutions. It explains why, no matter how well you create a list of goals or how much detailed thought goes into planning those goals ultimately failure is the outcome. As dieting fails without a program of proper supplementation of the essential nutrients for optimal health, so does “Mental Dieting” fail without the proper consumption of mental supplementation for optimal mental well-being.

In “Why Diets Fail” I show that the lack of essential nutrients causes the body to crave creating an insatiable appetite in an effort to find the lacking nutrition. In the “Mental Diet,” Emmet Fox discusses how difficult it is to change current reality because past thoughts, the way our minds have been programmed, the diet we have fed our subconscious mind with, keeps us from standing back and taking an objective look at the reality in which we find ourselves. As a result we continue to “feed” our mind with what has got us to where we are in our current reality.

In weight loss, supplementing with the essential nutrients increases the effectiveness of any weight loss program. To succeed with a “Mental Diet” you have to carefully select all day the kind of thoughts that you think. If you want to have a life of happiness and a sense of being worthwhile you must be selective in the thoughts that you allow yourself to dwell upon. A properly supplemented “Mental Diet” shapes your life into what it can be not what it has been so far. This is precisely why I have chosen to go on this journey into Mark J's the Master Key Master Mind Alliance.

Are you using 1960's technology? - Post 380

So why do we make prospecting so hard?

Because we are working with 1960s technology. Yes, in the early 1960s, we didn't have fax machines, cheap long-distance, the Internet, mobile phones ... and not even a calculator!

We certainly wouldn't want to go back to that era to build our business.

In 1960, we didn't know how the human mind made decisions to join, or not to join our business. So here is what we did:

We called prospects, made an appointment or invited them to an opportunity meeting, and then we dumped one hour of presentation information on them. Maybe we even showed them a movie (videos were not yet available) to bore them even further. And finally, we asked them for their decision.

Groan.

Thankfully, today we know how prospects make their decisions. We know how they decide quickly and efficiently. And we have the skills to manage those decisions.

We need to start by learning what goes through the prospects head. Click the link below or go to http://thinking.aimhighforsuccess.com

Is social media slowing growth in your business? - Post 379

So how hard is it to talk to "live" people?

Network marketing is person-to-person, talking to a "live" human being. So why do new network marketers make it so hard?

They want to start with strangers, because they don't know what to say to people they know. Not sure if strangers will appreciate them not knowing what to say.

So what do they do?

They post on social media, and then spend weeks writing content for their blog. They set up a squeeze page that sends people to a landing page that uses an opt-in box to put them on an autoresponder sequence. Then, they send email messages until the person goes and watches a teaser video, and hopefully will leave their details to be contacted.

And then, finally, the new networker can make that phone call to this low-quality lead and hope not to get rejected.

Why not go into Starbucks, sit down near the door, and start a 'live' conversation with a 'live' person."

Bypass all the filters, hoops, and social media, and just go and talked to a "live" person. Pretty neat.

But people say, "Well, that person in Starbucks ... how do you know that person is interested?"

Of course that person is interested. Almost everyone wants more money and a better life. That person is just as interested, just as qualified as the low-quality lead that put some information on a form.

But isn't just talking to people "old school?" Yes. It is so much more efficient than spending weeks and months for a chance to talk to a lead.

But isn't social media, having 5,000 Facebook friends that don't care, a modern way to do network marketing? Well, if delaying talking to prospects is modern, yes.

"But I heard of someone who made a fortune just buying an Internet course and sending out emails!" Well, could be true. Ask yourself if you have the same skill set, the same relationship with a mailing list, etc. as that person.

Now, I am not saying, "Don't use social media." What I am saying is that many new distributors hide behind computer screens, avoid talking to "live" people, and delay the start of their business.

Our business is talking to "live" people, so we want to get on with it as soon as possible. And the cruel truth of all of this is: If we spend weeks or months to get a chance to talk to a "live" prospect, we still have to talk to that prospect.

Quickly learn how to talk to prospects, and your business will grow faster.

Everybody loves a good story - Post 378

Everybody loves a good story.

When you are walking past some friends telling a story, what does your
subconscious command you to do? Listen. We love to listen to stories. Even little children, two years old say, "Mommy, Daddy, tell me a story."

So this should be a hint. If people love stories more than facts, how should we communicate to them? If people put up resistance to facts, but are open to stories, how should we communicate to them?

Our stories create pictures inside our prospects' heads, and a picture is worth 1,000 words. Let's look at the difference stories make by simply talking to a young man who just graduated from high school. We could say:

"Over 80% of the people who retire are broke. A residual income to add to our pensions is the key. By sacrificing current income, you could create a cash-producing asset in a few years ..."

Yawn. Boring. Not connecting.

So we could talk to that same young man with a story. We could say:

"Two young men graduate from high school. Young man #1 goes to a university, graduates $100,000 in debt, unemployed, begging for a job that will only pay him enough to be in debt the rest of his life, and then he gets to ... die.

"Young man #2 graduates from high school, starts his own business, and when his friend graduates from university, he retires, buys a university, and gives himself the grades he always wanted."

Does the story communicate better? I think so. Everyone loves a good story.

I know stories work. And I know stories pay off big.

Put an end to STRUGGLE - Post 377

If you are anything like me you have struggled when it comes to building your business. No matter how much you struggle, DON"T KEEP EXPRESSING IT. According to the Law of Attraction, whatever you express you manifest in your life. The more you talk about struggling the more struggling comes your way. Matt Morris did a very good job describing this dilemma in the video:

Self Discovery - Post 376

Over a 26 week period starting the beginning of October I began taking a class called Master Key The Greatest Salesman and Charles Haanel's, The Master Key System we are learning how to develop our sub-conscience mind in a way to fulfill our DMP.
Master Mind Alliance that is offered by Mark Januszewski (the http://WorldsLaziestNetworker.com ). We have been discussing why goal setting fails and we have been working on digging deeper into ones psyche to discover what is behind the goals we set. To discover our definite major purpose (DMP).  How to reprogram our thinking and to develop a blueprint for our future. By working through Og Mandino's,
What I discovered about myself so far, is I am looking for autonomy and liberty in my life. I guess it is only natural to desire these things after being crushed by corporate America so many times. Working  70 to 80 hours per week in management positions just to be told "Your services are no longer needed." I also know through my faith tradition that the Creator wants us to have freedom and to take personal responsibility for ourselves.

According to Dictionary.com
  • Autonomy means the state or condition of having independence or freedom, or of being autonomous; and
  • Liberty means freedom from control, interference, obligation, restriction, hampering conditions, etc.; power or right of doing, thinking, speaking, etc.,according to choice, freedom from external or foreign rule; independence.
I want to control my own destiny. To answer only to God for my actions. To build my own future without ever having to worry that someone else will decide that I am no longer needed by them, that I no longer fit into their plans to fulfill their goals and desires.

By the end of this journey the vision for my DMP; how I define autonomy and liberty in my life, is to be;

living a fulfilling life as willed by my Creator since the dawn of creation. My wife and I have oneness and peace of mind that comes from our loving relationship. We are having so much fun together, going to the theater, traveling together spending time seeing the country especially the quaint shops and villages. My love for my wife grows more deeply every day. I have a feeling of freedom since I paid off our mortgage. Being debt free is liberating. This allows me to save more so before my 65th birthday I have accumulated a retirement  retirement fund giving us the autonomy to never be dependent on anyone else.

I am enjoying a week in the Smokie's with my extended family taking in the smells and sights of the beautiful colors in the fall with the costs of their travel and the chalet paid for so we can all enjoy time together. We all get to enjoy the shows, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, shopping in the arts and crafts village and just spending time together.

I am contributing 10% of my gross home business earnings to my church and splitting an additional 5% to support “Feed the Children” Catholic Radio so our local station can operate 24 hours a day and the St Vincent DePaul foundation at my church to help people in my own community.

I am doing these because of the freedom of time and finances I have created from my Youngevity network marketing business. I am helping others achieve their financial and time independence by coaching them on how to do what we do. I am sharing Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace and teaching how to build a home business using Mark J’s and Big Al’s principles.

These are the things that I will achieve through this master mind alliance. I know there will be difficulties along the way. Murphy will visit and try to play havoc. Others that don't want me to reach my destination will through out their snide remarks and try to knock me off my path. But I hold the Master Key and I control my sub-conscience mind; what goes into it and what it produces. The Creator of all things tells us to ask and to trust and He will show the way. with all of Creation on the journey with you how can you fail?

Week 2 MKMMA - Do It Now - Post 375

"The great thing to learn about life is -- first, do not do what you DON'T want to do, and second, do what you DO want to do."
Editor, Margaret Anderson

As I continue this week on my Master Mey Master Mind Alliance journey, especially with the recitation of "DO It Now" I recalled a speach by Art Williams that I had posted on my blog quite some time ago. The speach is titled "Do It." I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

What's Your DMP - Post 374

Week 2 - Master Key Master Mind Alliance

This is much more difficult than I expected. For years I have been writing out goals and then failing to meet those goals. I never really thought about why I didn't have much success. As I have found out in this Master Keys program, I never really had much success because I never really dug down deeper than those goals. As I have learned you have to determine is much deeper than just the goals. You have to find out what your DMP is, your Definite Major Purpose.

In this video that Mark J posted a few years ago, he touches on this subject and does a much better job explaining what a DMP is than I can:

.
Last week all of us in the class shared our DMP with the team leaders. They looked at them and then made suggestions on how to dig deeper into what your DMP is. As I go deeper I have found it more difficult to put into words what I have in my heart. Even though I haven't finalized my DMP as of yet I can definitely understand how this exercise will lead ot a higher level of success by  moving into harmony with my DMP. It's really about what is in our soul and then using that take the DMP and use it to reprogram our subconscious mind.

The Golden Buddha - Post 373

Today I started on a "Great Adventure." It is a 6 month learning experience called the Master Keys Master Mind Alliance.  It is based on a 24 week correspondence course originally published in 1912 by Charles F Hannel called The Master Key System. Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, and W. Clement Stone were all students of this course and it greatly influenced each of their lives.

It is a course of authentic self discovery NOT a self help course. To start with we discussed dharma. Dharma is a Sanskrit word for purpose in life and the entire course is geared toward defining ones purpose.

To begin with one must understand that you were made for the best, by the Best. Now I capitalized the second "Best" because in my heart of heart the "Best" that created us is God.

Now when you were born all opportunity in the world is yours. In effect we are like pure gold, unblemished, without any outside prejudices. Unfortunatly, over time we are influneced by many others outside of ourselves. These influencers include our parents and families, schools, governements, our peer's, the business community including "advertisers." They all cover you in cement and clay, like the Golden Buddha in the video. They cover up the true you that is within so you conform to, acquiesce to, the society around you. They use the Dragon (fear) to discourage you; to dissuade you from journeying too far from conventional thinking.

For us to have success and really achieve our dharma, our true purpose in life we must slay our dragons of false security. The false idols of the society outside of us.

There are so many books written on the subject of success and how to achieve it but most of them focus on physical actions for us to take in order to achieve the desired results. Convential wisdon says that thought becomes belief. Belief then leads to action and action creats the desired results.

As a result, most people and most self help programs focus on taking massive action in order to achieve the desired results. Massive action without a coresponding change in thought in most cases leads to the same unwanted results and we fail. The world without (consciousness) is a reflection on the world within (the subconscious mind). The world within is where all the power for change is. The world within has the power to generate courage, hope, enthusiasm, confidence, trust, faith. Unfortunatly it also has the power to generate fear, hopelessness, indifference, pessimism, doubt and skepticism.

The subconsious mind (circled in the diagram) makes decisions seven seconds before the conscious mine is even aware. The subconsious mind can't differentiate between real and percieved feelings. We can therefore change the belief of the subconscious mind by learnt ways to reprogram it using vivid, lifelike feelings and experiences through our imaginations. Denis Waitley, in the Psycology of Winning, discusses how the subconsious mind of athletes, when connected to brain wave equipment, could not tell the difference between actually participating in their sports or vividly visuallizing themselves participating in the same activities.

Gain is a result of an accumulation of consciousness. Loss is a result of scattered consciousness. Most people live with scattered consciousness; they only react to the randomness of the environment around them. The universe moves toward chaos. We can order our universe, focusing our consciousness by reprogramming our beliefs. To do this we have to focus on the feelings that are feeding those beliefs. Once we change our beliefs we automatically take the actions necessary to achieve the desired results.

Want to be a winner - Post 372

We hear all the time to set goals and then you will have success. In fact the "goal setting" gurus always like to quote a Harvard study that showed that people that set goals had a much higher success rate than those that did not. The fact is, the study never took place.

Think about it. Every "New Year" we set all kinds of goals and how many do we keep?

Almost none of them.

Success actually comes from having a very specific purpose in life. Something that is so big and so specific that we will stop at nothing until we achieved it. That happened to me way back when I decided to go back to college after many years in the work world. To completely abandon everything that I was or had been doing. I had only one purpose in my life at that time and it was to graduate with that degree and become a pharmacist so I could porvide for my family.

So success is all in the mindset. Quincy Jones once said "If somebody can discourage you from your dream, then you should be."

The strange thing is I have had a much more difficult time finding that focus now. So many life obsticles have happened in recent years that getting in the right "mindset" is much more difficult. Mark Januszewski said if you "Want to be a w-inner?  We’ve got to work on the Inner….we do that, the “w” shows up." Here is a great video from Mark J #worldslaziestnetworker on becoming a winner.

Ten best things to say if you get caught sleeping at your desk - Post 371

By On ·
From the vast source of trivia on the Internet:

10. “They told me at the blood bank this might happen.”

9. “This is just a 15-minute power nap like they raved about in that time management course you sent me to.

8. “Whew! Guess I left the top off the white-out. You probably got here just in time.”

7. “I wasn’t sleeping, I was meditating on the mission statement and envisioning a new paradigm.”

6. “I was testing my keyboard for drool resistance.”

5. “I was doing a highly specific yoga exercise to relieve work-related stress. Do you discriminate against people who practice yoga?”

4. “Why did you interrupt me? I had almost figured out a solution to our biggest problem.”

3. “The coffee machine is broken.”

2. “Someone must have put decaf in the wrong pot.”

1. ” …in God’s name, Amen.”

Baby Boomer Retirment Trends - Post 370

If you are like me, I know someone has probably approached you about one of those multi-level marketing things. The pitch varies from company to company but it basically promises a chance to quit your 40 hour job, be your own boss, and make lots of money while making new friends in the process.

It all sounds good but there is all kinds of debate over whether these companies and programs are legitimate business opportunities or not. I have actually spent the last 5 years exploring the industry myself. I joined 14 different companies over that time frame. I've met some incredible people as well as a few crooks along the way. I've come accross some fantastic products backed by great science as well as some that made me pause and think, are people really falling for this stuff?

My conclusion is that it is real. People really do make the incomes that are claimed, I've personally met them.

And you know what else?

I want to address my generation specifically since I can relate more directly with the circumstances we face. The reality is, making a successful transition into retirement is just as much about the psycology of retirement as it is the money. Most of us realize money does play a significant part but never think of the other aspects of retirement.

I want to address my generation specifically since I can relate more directly with the circumstances we face. The reality is, making a successful transition into retirement is just as much about the psycology of retirement as it is the money. Most of us realize money does play a significant part but never think of the other aspects of retirement.

We have been the trend setters that have driven our economy for the past 50 years. Think about it, we fueled the baby-food boom of the 50's, the explosion of suburbia in the 50's to 60's. The explosion of college education in the 60's and 70's. We became so busy raising our families in the 80's through the 90's we've caused an explosion in fast food and convience foods. We fueled the mini van craze and as we started worring about our health we ignited the fitness and exercise craze of the 80's. As our health began suffering we started the healthcare boom in the 90's with an explosion of every type of healthcare facility imaginable.

Now we are in the fifty to sixty year old range and retirement is starting to worry us. On average today, we are estimated to have less than $50,000 in retirement savings. I'm one of those. After 2 years of un-employment, my retirement savings is shot. Folks, there is an obvious need to find alternative ways to either save more or generate supplemental income starting now, and continuing throughout retirement.  And lets face it, we are growing tired of feeling guilty or bad about our past savings habits and are interested in moving towards possible solutions.

We are also increasingly disenchanted with our current careers. We’re worn-out from years of the corporate grind We don’t feel a connection between our job and the people it impacts outside our office walls. Think about this, AARP’s estimate that half of all baby boomers (76 million) are interested in starting a business. This sets up the makings of a massive trend.

We are now shifting our focus from accumulating a nest egg to a desire to be part of something bigger and better… to have a positive effect on others…and comming to terms with the fact that we will be working in retirement. Folks like me are begining to realize we need activities that keep us busy, relevant, in good health, and connected to others just as much as our need for income.

I found that this industry offers very low barriers into entrepreneurship, provides training, support, and ample encouragement along the way. The time, energy and cost to participate makes this business very appealing to large segments of the population. A means of meeting new people. Folks like to use the business activity to keep busy (particularly in the winter) and use the extra money to travel and spoil the grand kids.
After doing all this research I no longer perceive these types of home business opportunities as money-making pyramid schemes.  Instead, I now see it as a way to enhance many of the personal aspects of retirement that are rarely discussed, let alone planned for, with the added benefit of supplementing our retirement income sources such as pension and social security.

Most people don’t realize that multi-level marketing companies are successful because they help people satisfy a number of important human needs, including the need to feel significant, to have connections, to be able to learn something new, and to feel that they are making a difference.  Many of the people that I know in this business say again and again, ‘I’m doing this because I’m meeting amazing people … making so many connections … and I feel so good about myself." and you know what? I have experienced the same thing myself. When other basic human needs are being met, the members and consultants that I have met don’t focus solely on the financial aspects any longer.

I know many people that have been able to replace their full-time income but it didn’t happen overnight, and many still work every day and are happier at their jobs because of the psycological and financial fulfilment they are experiencing with their home business.  That is why I recommend keeping your current job while slowly making the transition into the home business realm. That is exactly what I have been doing.

Some that I've met bagain their home business career out of necessity. So many times I've heard that prior to getting involved in the business they told their friends to never let them join one of those things… but when their family was hit with a financial crisis they had to do something different. They started thier business with the intention that some retirees may also find themselves in now. They started with the idea that they just needed to make their month easier.  Most that joined just needed an extra $500 per month.

So many say they work hard at their business every day, but it doesn’t always feel like work.  Just like others in other fields that profit from their passion, they say it’s rewarding because they found a product that has made in difference in how they look and feel… and they love sharing it and helping other people start a business.

Financial analyst and economist Harry Dent says that "Peer-to-Peer Marketing" is the fastest-growing home business model and the health and wellness segment of the industry will comtinue to be the fastest grow segment. He goes on to say that the best time to start a business is now because business like this actually see their biggest growth during economic downturns.

Peer to peer marketing companies, along with other small businesses opportunities, are important for anyone entering into retirement to consider. I believe the concept of starting a business for retirement income will become one of the most significant trends impacting retirement in the 21st century.  But it has to start with redefining entrepreneurship and framing it into a retirement lifestyle.

That means helping people find ways to turn a passion, hobby, or personal desire into extra money in their pocket… not to mention helping people see the importance of planning for the non-financial aspects of retirement; replacing a work identity, staying relevant and connected, as well as keeping mentally and physically fit.

This is something we are poised to capitalize on and what has me so excited. Because the baby boomers are looking to adjust their retirement feelings and plans, this industry could soon experience larger than life growth. I would love to have the opportunity to share with you more about what I am doing to not only have finacial security but also to fulfill the need to feel significant, to have connections, to be able to learn something new, and to feel that I'm making a difference.

Instant Rapport - Post 369

Nobody buys your product or wants your opportunity.

It is 4:00 in the morning. You are in a deep sleep. All of a sudden your doorbell rings and someone is knocking on your door.

You jump out of bed, run to the door, open the door, and a stranger says:
"I have BMW automobiles at the end of your street, half-price!"

Now, BMW makes great cars. And half-price is the deal of the century. So are you going to buy?

Probably not. You don't know this person. You don't like this person for waking you up. And you certainly don't trust the offer.

So the question is, "Do prospects buy an incredible offer, an incredible opportunity ... or do prospects buy the person who tells them about it?"

The answer is obvious.

If you want more people to buy your products or join your opportunity, stop pitching products and opportunity, and start becoming a better you. Learn how to talk to people in a way that builds trust and rapport.

The Price of Success - Post 368

This is something I don't think is talked about enough. Everyone wants success but not many people ever look at the price of success.

As I'm sitting here recording this video I'm thinking to myself, the price of success is very real and very worth it and I almost didn't pay it, I'm filled with gratitude for all the people in my life that encouraged me to stay on the path and to pay the full price of success.

See, there were many times I wanted to quit. There were many times where I felt like the price for of success was too high. There were many times I almost gave up... But I didn't and that's part of the price of success. You have to give relentless effort and hard work for as long as it takes. You can ease up from time to time, but the price of success is hard work and relentless dedication and determination to achieving the things you want in your life.

Too many people ignore the price of success and fail to understand what it is before they "board the train". They don't realize that it's THEIR effort that powers that train and the ONLY way it's going to get to where they want it to go is through their efforts.

It's hard work. It's demanding. It's a lot of challenges.

That's the price of success and I'm not one to ever say it's easy, but I will always say it's definitely worth it...

And the lesson is, get excited to pay the price knowing that you will need to pay the entire full price of success if success is what you want!

5 Things you would Do, Have, or Become if money were no object - Post 366

If money were no object, what would you do, have, or become?

We all like to dream about what we would do if we won the lottery or came into some other unexpected source of money. It's a fun thing to do but most of us don't really expect to ever see it happen. We've all heard that we are more likely to be struck by lightning than to win the lottery.

In this video Randy Gage asks what are the 5 things you would you do, have or become if money was no object.

Chasing Dreams - Post 364

When we are young we have lots of dreams.

Dreams about what we want to own, do and become.

Places we want to go and experience.

But something happens as we get older. Reality slowy creeps into our lives.

We get out of school and take that job, even though it's not what we wanted, so we can start earning a paycheck. We begin to cross off our dreams one by one as the years go by. We start shrinking our dreams to eventially fit into the reality of what we earn then suddenly it's too late.

This short video is by Randy Gage as he describes how he chased his dreams only to have them yanked away by reality. Randy didn't give up however and neither have I. If you want to learn more about what we are doing to reach our dreams then complete the information request at the bottom of this page and I will share with you a better way.
