Do You Own a Job or Does It Own You?
Years ago I read a book by Robert Kiyosaki called Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
It changed my life.
In the book Robert introduced me to the concept of the cash flow quadrant and moving myself from the E and S, Employee and self-employed side over to the B and I, business owner and investor side. For the first time in my life I really understood having other people generate multiple streams of income for me. I understood that I can continue to be and E or S, work 40 hours per day and get paid for 40 hours. If I wanted to make more money I had to get another, higher paying job or work more hours. Those where the only options. (learn about the Cash Flow Quadrant here: http://youtu.be/RDxlNyH-pp4 )
But by moving to the B and I side I could compound my effort. I could have several people all working 40 hours for me and I would benefit from many more hours of work during that same 40 hour period. As J P Getty once said he would rather get paid for 1% of the efforts of 100 people than 100% of the efforts of his own work. These concepts really resonated with me.
I began looking around at different ways to get paid for the efforts of those 100 people. I knew that franchises could do it for me because they would offer me a proven system, a proven product, and mentoring and training but I didn’t have thousands of dollars laying around for the initial investment.
Then I finally found it. I actually found a way to get paid 5% on the efforts of 100, 1000, 10,000 or more people. I found a business with low startup costs, no inventory, no employees to manage, no complicated paper work and government regulations to worry about. A business with many mentors ready to help that are just a phone call away. And a business with plenty of training materials to help me get off to a good start.
Before I tell you about the business I want to share 2 things with you. First I have included a blog that Robert Kiyosaki recently posted on this same subject. After his post I will include a link to a website that will give you an insight into the business that I found. I ask that you read this blog post and then go oto that website, complete the contact form and then watch a short video by another good friend of mine. After you do both I will contact you to set up a time to talk about what I have found and how it can help you as well.
Here is Robert’s post:
Do You Own a Job or Do You Own a Business? Find Out the Difference
3 Ways to Become a Successful Business Owner
Posted on: Tuesday, August 13, 2013

The importance of business systems and how to own them.
Do you want to own your own business? Often, when people are trained to be employees or self-employed, E's and S's on the left side of the CASHFLOW Quadrant, they find it hard to transition to the right side of the quadrant, to become a Business Owner (B) and Investor (I).
But if you want to be truly wealthy and financially free, it's imperative that you move to the right side of the CASHFLOW Quadrant. The best way to do this is to move from an E or and S to a B. By building a business, you learn a business sense and how to build great systems. And owning a successful business is really owning a successful system and leveraging others to work in that system. That's the fundamental difference between and E or S and a B.
When you start a business, you also learn what makes a business successful—and what makes it unhealthy. These are key things you'll need to know to be a great investor. Additionally, starting a successful business will give you the cash flow and free time you need to invest well and weather the ups and downs of the market.
When it comes to becoming a successful business owner, there are three ways you can thrive in the B quadrant.
1. Find a mentor
My rich dad was my mentor. A mentor is someone who has already done what you want to do and is successful at doing it. My rich dad taught me about systems and how to be a leader of people, not a manager of people. Managers often see their subordinates as inferiors. Leaders must direct people who are often smarter than they are.
A traditional way to do this is to get your MBA from a prestigious school and then get a fast-track job that takes you up the corporate ladder. An MBA will teach you about the basics of accounting and how the financial numbers relate to your systems, but having an MBA doesn't mean you're competent to run a business. You'll need to spend 10 to 15 years in a company to learn all the different aspects of business. Then, you should plan on leaving to start your own company. Working for a successful major corporation is like being paid by your mentor.
Even with a mentor and years of experience, building a business from scratch is labor-intensive. Creating your own system requires a lot of trial and error, up-front legal costs, and paperwork. All of this occurs while you're trying to develop and lead your people.
2. Buy a franchise
If you don't want to take the time to build your own business systems, you can buy a franchise. When you buy a franchise, you're buying into a proven operating system. The advantage of buying a franchise is that you can take the time you'd spend building your systems to focus on developing your team. And because banks like to make loans to businesses with good, proven systems, they'll often give a loan to a franchise but not to a start-up.
A word of caution: Don't buy a franchise if you want to do things your own way. You must be ready to do everything the way the franchisors tell you. You don't call the shots, but you do own the system. If you want to do your own thing, do it after you've mastered both building your own system and leading people.
3. Get involved in network marketing
Network marketing often gets a bad rap. Because it's a newer form of business system, many people look at it suspiciously and think of it as a scam. Initially, I felt this way too. But after dropping my prejudices and doing some research, I found many people who were sincerely and diligently building successful network-marketing businesses that made a positive impact on their financial futures and others'.
For a reasonable entry fee (often around a few hundred bucks), you can buy into an existing system and immediately begin building a business. And because of technology, this can be done almost entirely online and automated. Paperwork, order processing, distribution, accounting, and follow-up are almost entirely managed by the network-marketing software. This allows you to focus on building your business instead of worrying about the normal start-up headaches of a small business.
Start today
Today, primarily due to changes in technology, the risk in becoming a successful business owner is greatly reduced, and the opportunity to build your own or leverage an existing business system is available to virtually everyone. If you want to start your own business, there's really no excuse not to start today.
Franchises and network marketing solutions took away the hard part of developing your own systems. You acquire the rights to a proven system, and then your only job is to develop your people.
One practical thing you can do today is start learning about business and systems from a mentor and a coach. I had a great mentor and coach when I was building my business, and you need one too.
I hope you enjoyed this article by Robert Kiyosaki, He has certainly made a major difference in my life. Here is the link to the website I mentioned earlier. AMA Interfering with Pharmacy Practice
The AMA (American Medical Association) is getting bold. They don't want Pharmacists questioning what they are doing when they write a prescription that the pharmacist thinks may be inappropriate or even dangerous. Read their official statement after this post.
The medical system is imploding and it's time to start taking your health in your own hands. I thank God every day that he introduced me to this alternative wellness business and I'll gladly share it, I'm always looking to expand.
Here is the post from the AMA:
Is AMA Interfering with Pharmacy Practice and Patient Outcomes?
In June of this year, 2013, the American Medical Association made an official statement as follows: "That our American Medical Association (AMA) deem inappropriate inquiries from pharmacies to verify the medical rationale behind prescriptions, diagnoses and treatment plans to be an interference with the practice of medicine and unwarranted."

If I could show you how to eliminate
your two largest monthly expenses
would you give me 20 minutes?

Daily Creed
Any of you that know me or have been following me through one of my online blogs, know that I really put allot of emphasis on self improvement and self development. I utilize a wide variety of resources to get the positive information into my daily routine. Admittedly, it has been very difficult to embrace a daily routine of self development. Every day life tends to find ways to knock me off course. Once I realize I am going in the wrong direction I step back and realign myself and then move forward again.
In addition to the library of books, over the years I have collect a huge library of motivational, educational, and uplifting audios. I collect them everywhere but especially from the internet. My collection includes lectures from the greats like Jim Rohn, Zig Zigglar, Brian Tracy, John Fogg. I have people in religious circles like Joyce Myers, Joel Osteen, Bishop Fulton Sheen. I have even taken some old audio cassettes that I couldn't fine digital versions of and manually converted them into digital format. My library includes audio books and radio interviews that I have recorded. I have even gone as far as taken the audio track from the movie The Secret and turned it into an MP3 file so I can listen to it over and over.
I have developed many different habits to maximize, that is, to make most of the amount of time I have. For example, it takes me about an hour to cut the grass. I always make sure I have my iPod with me while I cut the grass. I pick one of the many audios in my library that comes closest to filling that time slot and listen to it while cutting grass. I do the same when commuting in the car, sitting in the doctors office, cleaning out the garage, working on the landscaping, whatever the chore. If I can't be engaged in some sort of business generating activity then I try whenever possible to be listening to self development, uplifting information to feed my brain.
Yesterday I did the same thing. I jumped on a conference call and listened with my earphones while I was doing some other work. I listened to Barb Pitcock on her Saturday morning call. I found it so inspirational that I am sharing the link here with you. But I also downloaded the call and added it to my MP3 device so I can listen again and again from anywhere I please.
I encourage you to develop the same habits. Over time you will be amazed at the change it can make on your outlook for yourself, your family, and your career.

You've Enrolled a New Distributor, Now What?
You've enrolled a new distributor, now what do you do?
Many years ago I joined my first network marketing company. I really enjoyed all the products they had and as a pharmacist I was willing to put my reputation on the line but I had no idea what to do. I was getting no where quick and my up-line sponsors were of no help either. They were very excited to have a pharmacist on board and where quick to use me for credibility in their own pursuits but they did not provide any real training whatsoever so I quit.
I knew that network marketing was a good way to generate additional income for me and my family I just didn't know how to do it. I spent the next 2 years looking at dozens of companies and even joining a few. This time however I was looking at training and marketing systems before I would even consider a company.
The only problem I had is I could not find a single company who's products I felt comfortable with putting my pharmacist reputation behind. So I began looking at companies outside of the wellness arena.
Long story short, after all this exploration I ended up coming back to the original company. I joinded a new team that was willing to help and I vowed that I would never be the sponsor that collected the check and ran. I took all of that information that I had leared from all of these other companies and compiled it into a training website, http://BestNetFun.com .
I realize that all that information is overwhelming. When a new distributor goes there they can quickly get frustrated and maybe even get lost so I knew I needed to give them a roadmap to follow as they prepare to get there business off to a fast start. So I created a series of emails that I send out to my new team members that guides them through a fast start traing process over the first 5 days they are in the business.
Since one of the tools I use for my business is an auto-responder system, I just change their status when they join from a prospect to a distributor and the auto responder does the work for me. I realize that not everyone can subscribe to an auto-responder system when they are just starting out so I thought I would share with you the 5 emails that I send out so you can customize them for yourself and manually send them out if you like.
I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to share it as well as my training site with your friends.

Subject: Taking Action
Hello John,
Now that you have completed step 3
in the training manual you are ready to move on to Step 4 – Execute the
Strategy on page 22. Take some time now to review the presentation, The 4 Disciplines of Execution.
When you finish with step 4 move
on to Step 5 – Track your Actions on page 23 of your training
manual. If you don’t know where you have been then you won’t know where you
are and you won’t know if you are still on course so be sure to use these
tools for keeping track of your activity. It is very easy to get side tracked
in this business so these tools are designed to keep you moving in the right
direction.
Once
you have completed these two steps you are ready to begin building your
business. Contact me as soon as you have completed step 5 so we can work on
getting you to the SEMD level quickly. The most exciting part of the system
is that you aren't alone!
Isn't it nice to know that you are
in business for yourself, but not BY yourself? You have been handed the key
to your new business in one hand, and your other hand is being held by your

Excusitis, Do you suffer from this debilitating disease?
Today we are going to discuss probably the biggest disease of failure that many people suffer from but before I do that I would like to encourage you to subscribe to my posts. Just click on the subscribe link on this page so you can get my latest posts as I make them available.
Yesterday I began reading the book, "The Magic of Thinking Big" by Dr. David J Schwartz. Today I am on the second chapter, Cure Yourself of Excusitis, the Failure Disease so I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on what I have read so far.
For years I have known that the most effective way to become successful in life is to study the habits of successful people and to incorporate those habits into one’s own life. Dr. Schwartz did a fantastic job of contrasting the habits of successful people with those of unsuccessful people. He observed that the unsuccessful people have an excuse for everything that affects them. He says they suffer from Excusitis - The Failure Disease.
As I reflect on people in my own life I see how true this really is. I can see the least successful of them have the most excuses as to why they aren't a success. They blame their failures on lack of education, poor health, bad luck, poor family conditions, uncooperative spouse, etc. The thing is I see that many people that came from many of these same situations live very successful and rewarding lives.
One person that comes to mind right away is Joyce Meyers, the evangelist and best-selling author. She was sexually and emotionally abused during her childhood and teen years. She was told that she would never amount to anything in her life. She held onto those statements used them as excuses in her early life. ; Which lead to an abusive marriage and even criminal activity. Once she changed her attitude about herself and others she was able to put the excuses behind her and now has a successful marriage and a successful enterprise where she is richly blessed.
Also Bill Gates comes to mind. I'm sure you have heard how he dropped out of college to start his business. Everyone kept telling him that he wouldn't make it. They told him he couldn't go up against companies like IBM and expect to win. He could have listened to what they said and started giving himself all these excuses why he wouldn't be successful but he didn't.
I can also see it in my own life. When I lost my first job I could have made excuses about how I would not succeed. At that time the unemployment rate was in the double digits and so was inflation. Interest rates where as much as 20% perhaps more. But I didn't make excuses. I knew that I would succeed no matter what and against all odds; I put myself through pharmacy school; Working nearly full time providing for a wife and kids while I did it. No excuses just did it.
I can also see other points in my life when things weren't going so well, I can see that I was making a lot of excuses instead of finding a way through the difficulties.
Dr. Schwartz is correct in characterizing Excusitis as a disease because once someone finds an excuse for a situation and then sticks to it that excuse then festers inside and builds upon itself. Just like an uncontrolled infection festers and grows without the intervention of antibiotics, excusitis will fester and grow as one continues to look for more and more excuses for their failure.
Health is one area that people use as an excuse for not having success. I know of one person in particular that will not travel anywhere because they don't want to be too far from their cardiologist. This person has had heart problems in the past and now uses the excuse of their health to dictate their life.
I have a nephew on the other hand that was born with a congenital heart condition. His heart was not formed correctly and since he was very small he has underwent numerous surgeries. Naturally his life expectancy isn't as good as a child born with a normal heart but he doesn't let this stop him. He lives his life to the fullest. He enjoys the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He stays very active in his life. Yes, his condition slows him down at times but he doesn’t use it as an excuse to sit around the house all day. He gets out and enjoys his life.
Reflect on this statement for a moment. "I felt sorry for myself because I had ragged shoes until I met a man who had no feet."
Another excusitis symptom that nearly 95% of the population suffers from in one form or another is the lack of appropriate intelligence. Folks, I never let this one get me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bragging here. I see and meet people all the time who have less intelligence than I have yet they have far greater success in their life than I have achieved thus far achieved. This one I use as my motivating force, if they could achieve success then there is no way that I can't achieve even more success.
Sometimes the most intelligent people use their intelligence to find all the reasons why something won't work despite the fact that others with less intelligence are having much more success. They often suffer from some of the worse cases of excusitis.
Henry Ford is an example that comes to mind. One of the newspapers at the time had called him an ignoramus so he sued them basically telling them to prove it. So they proceeded to ask him a series of questions about American history and other such questions. Henry Ford had very little formal education so he couldn't answer them. He finally got exasperated and said that he didn't know the answers to those questions. He went on to say that on his desk sits a powerful tool, his telephone. He can pick this tool up and connect himself within a matter of moments with the brightest people in any particular field to get the right answer at any moment. In essence he told them that he didn't need to know all the answers he just needed to know where to get them.
Folks we have an even greater tool today, it’s called the internet. NO ONE can claim today that a lack of intelligence is keeping them from having success. With the tool of the internet everyone can now vaccinate themselves against this form of excusitis.
I have only covered a couple examples of excusitis in this short post today. I could go on much longer but I think I have illustrated the point very well.
Let me ask you, what excuses are you using to keep yourself from having success?
What forms of excusitis do you suffer from?
There are lots of things happening in my life right now, any one of which I could use as an excuse to hold myself back but you know what? I reached a peak in my profession not once but twice in my lifetime. Both times I never let excusitis hold me back. Once again I am going to reach the level of success that I desire. This time however I have changed the playing field, this time once I reach that level of success I am going to have more time freedom to spend with my family. To achieve some of the other goals in my life that center around my church and my community. This time I will do it on my own terms without others dictating what I can and can’t do. This time I am doing it with a home based business that allows me flexibility and freedom to do what I want when I want and like today from where I want. I hope you join me. Just follow the link that accompanies this post and I will share with you what I am doing to achieve the goals that I have set forth in my life.
