Social Insecurity!

There's a frightening trend in America.

What's worse... it effects even the hardest working, most deserving men and women.

Out of 100 people that start working at the age of 25 - by the age of 65...

1 is wealthy
3 are still working
4 have enough money to retire
63 depend on Social Security or charity
29 are deceased

This information comes from a study done by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and it indicates that only 5% of people over the age of 65 are able to retire!

I don't know about you, but I don't want to be working until I die. I want to enjoy my "golden years" as much as the next guy.

Fewer and fewer people are putting their trust and faith in "Big Business," because the first rule for success according to J. Paul Getty is...

"You must be in business for yourself.
You will never get rich working for someone else."

Fight back against this frightening trend.

Don't be one of the 63 depending on Social Security!

Don't be one of the 29 that are deceased!

Instead be in the top 5%!

Start today, building a business for yourself that can put you onto the fast track to better health and success.

It's a new year, time for a new you!

The blueprint is written, and we're ready to hand it to you...

All you have to do is grab it!

No Matter How Busy You Are by Jim Rohn

No Matter How Busy You Are by Jim Rohn

No matter how busy you are, make sure to find some time over the next two weeks to reflect, think, give and plan.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is the ideal time for this. Try to slow things down. Spend time with the ones you love and care about. Take some time to talk with your spouse and kids about goals and dreams for the next year. Use this as a time to recharge your batteries (and not just by watching TV the entire time), and with excitement, think about a handful of changes or additions you want for your life in the New Year.

I believe you will find the act of reflecting, thinking, dreaming and planning (with your family) to be one of the most important exercises you can do that will positively impact the next 12 months.

And, remember, do not neglect to commit yourself to set this time aside, or you will find that the business of life can and will get in the way.

So, let's all take a moment to gather up the past year of victories and defeats, growing as well as those times of stagnation, and use it to wipe a clean slate and thoughtfully design the next year the way we truly desire it to be.

Keys To Building Solid Relationships

Keys To Building Solid Relationships

People like to do business with people they know and trust. This is why building solid relationships is so important. Relationship-building can take many forms but some elements are essential to all. Let’s take a moment to review some of these essentials that will help you nurture and grow solid relationships within your organization.

Your 30-Second Introduction

Have you upgraded your 30-second introduction lately? If you haven’t revised it in the last twelve months, it’s probably stale. A new introduction can spark energy and enthusiasm—in yourself as well as others. Consider infusing powerful action words like “create,” “design,” “organize,” “generate,” “solve,” and “produce”. Deliver it in front of a mirror or camcorder and see what others see.

A Two-Way Street. What’s in it for them? We often think of what we want to get from relationships. Flip this over and consider what you’re willing to give to your downline. Do you have knowledge or techniques that will help your downline be successful? Keep in mind that building relationships is a two-way street, so to speak, that begins with you. Approaching relationships in a giving, proactive mode is an excellent beginning.
Follow up, Follow up, Follow up

The simple act of following up with your customers or business builders will make you stand out with them. To follow-up impactfully, always remember to create a contact management list first. You may start to see growth as you demonstrate an interest in relationship building with your downline members, and additional growth as they, in turn, start to do the same.

Time and Patience

You might want to think of building business relationships the same way as you would grow a garden. Gardening requires nurturing, resources (water, Bloomin’ Minerals™, sunlight, etc.), and patience. But the results (a bountiful harvest) are worth it. Similarly, developing healthy, productive relationships also requires nurturing (followup) resources (sharing of knowledge) and patience. And the results are definitely worth it!

It is Up to You!

It is Up to You

One of the first things successful people realize is the old adage, "if it is to be, it is up to me." That is, for you, the fact that your success and your course is up to you. This doesn't mean that you do it all alone. It simply means that you take responsibility for your life and your career.

Too many people today look at opportunity and figure it is up to someone else to make sure they get it. They look at financial security and hope that the government will make sure they live safely in retirement or in case of disability. They wait and wait, figuring that it is up to someone else. And then the wait is over, and it is too late to do anything. Their life is over and they are filled with regret.

This isn't true for you however. You know that you must take responsibility for your life. It is up to you.

The fact is that nobody else is going to do it for you "you must do it yourself.

Now, some people may say, "Jim, that's a lot of responsibility." Friends, that is the best news you can ever hear. You get to choose your life. Hundreds of millions of people all around this world would give anything to live in the situation you do "just for the chance to have the opportunity to take control of their destiny. "It is up to you" is a great blessing!

Here's why:

1. You get to chart your own destiny. Maybe you want to start a small business and stay there. That's great because you can choose that. Maybe you want to create a small chain of stores. Maybe you want to have a net worth of $100 million. That's okay too. The idea is that you get to choose. You can do whatever you like. Different people have different dreams and they should live them accordingly.

2. You can reap what you sow. Sleep in and go to work late and reap the return. Or get up early and outwork the others and earn a greater return. Place your capital at risk and earn a return "or place it at greater risk and perhaps reap a greater return. You decide what you will sow and thus what you will reap.

3. No one else can stop you from getting your dream. Yes, there will always be things that come up and people who may not like what you are doing, but you can just move on and chart your own course. There is great freedom in that.

4. You experience the joy of self-determination. There is no greater pride than knowing you set your mind on something and accomplished it. Those who live with a victim mentality never get to experience the joy of accomplishment because they are always waiting for someone else to come to the rescue. Those who take responsibility get to live the joy of seeing a job well done.

Let me ask you a question: Where will you be in 5 years? 10 years? Or 25 years? Do you know? DO you have an idea? Have you ever dreamed about it or set a goal for it? Are you willing to take responsibility and recognize that, "It is up to you?"

You will be wherever you decide to be in those timeframes. You decide. It is up to you.

And that is very exciting!

This Is Sheer Stupidity!

Experts will debate whether more KIDS should be screened and treated for high cholesterol.
New NIH guidelines recommend screening ALL kids between ages 9 to 11...and again between 17 to 21.
Advocates say universal screening is needed to identify more kids with dyslipidemia...and spur healthier lifestyle choices.
Up to 60% of kids with dyslipidemia are missed if only kids with a family history of dyslipidemia or premature CV disease are screened.
But critics worry that it'll be too tempting to treat high cholesterol with drug therapy. There's no proof that treating kids prevents future heart disease...or that long-term treatment is safe.
Recommend appropriate exercise, diet, and weight. This should be enough for the typical kid with dyslipidemia...those who are overweight with high triglycerides, normal or slightly high LDL, and low HDL.
In general, suggest saving meds for kids if a genetic dyslipidemia is suspected...such as those with an LDL over 190 mg/dL.
If meds are needed, suggest starting with a low-dose statin.
Most statins are approved for kids as young as 10...and pravastatin for as young as 8. Educate teenage girls on statins about contraception if appropriate...because of possible harm to the fetus.

Failing?

If you are not making the progress that you would like to make and are capable of making, it is simply because your goals are not clearly defined. Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon . . . must inevitably come to pass!- Paul J Meyer

Put the Compound Effect to Work for You

Put the Compound Effect to Work for You

• What area, person, or circumstance in your life do you struggle with the most? Start journaling all the aspects of that situation that you are grateful for. Keep a record of everything that reinforces and expands your gratitude in that area.

• where in your life are you not taking 100% responsibility for success or failure of your present condition? Write down 3 things you've done in the past that have messed things up. List 3 things you should've done but didn't. Write 3 things that happened to you that you responded poorly to and 3 things you can start doing now to take back responsibility for the outcomes in your life.

• Start tracking at least one behavior in one area of your life you'd like to change and improve (e.g., money, nutrition, fitness, parenting, recognizing others . . . any area).
